Courses and exams
Which CISI exams do you cover?
Our courses cover CISI Level 3 certificates, the Investment Advice Diploma and PCIAM, with more exams being added. Every course is listed on the Courses page.
How do I know a course matches my exam?
Each course page gives the syllabus edition and the exam dates it covers. Check that your booked exam falls within those dates.
Are your questions official CISI papers?
No. Whytebloom Chapter Revision Questions and Mock Tests are written independently and are not official CISI papers.
Can I try a course before I buy?
Yes. Every course page lists all the chapters and the previews available: a Concept Video clip where one is marked, page 1 of a Chapter Summary, 10 Chapter Revision Questions and the first 10 questions of Mock Test 1. Multiple-choice previews are marked with explanations. PCIAM written-answer previews come with model answers to check your work.
How do you choose which topics to emphasise?
We draw on many years of preparing candidates and the published syllabus weightings to identify areas that are often tested. Whytebloom has no advance knowledge of exam questions and cannot predict your paper or guarantee a pass.
Your study timetable
How does the study timetable work?
When you join, you give your exam date, the days and hours you can study each week, and any busy weeks. You then take a short check across the syllabus. Your timetable sets out every session from today to exam day, and each session names the Concept Videos, Chapter Summaries and questions to do. Each day you open the course to that day's session and mark it done.
How much time do I need each week?
It depends on the exam, your experience and how long you have until exam day. Your timetable estimates the study time you need from your exam, your starting check and the hours you have. If the work does not fit before your exam, it shows the shortfall straight away, so you can add study time or move to a later sitting.
What if I miss a session or fall behind?
Sessions you miss move into the spare time your timetable keeps for this, so one missed session needs nothing from you. If you fall further behind, your timetable warns you how far behind you are and, where your free time allows, offers catch-up time that week. It is added only if you confirm it. If your study no longer fits before your exam, it shows you the choices: more study time, a later exam date, or what would be left out. We also send a warning email at most once a week. You can turn these emails off. With tutor support, a tutor contacts you to agree how to get back on track.
How do you measure my progress towards a pass?
For multiple-choice exams, we compare your practice scores with the exam pass mark and show which chapters need more work. For PCIAM, you check your written answers against model answers. For every exam, we also track how much of the syllabus you have covered and the sessions you have completed. These measures show how your preparation is going. They cannot guarantee a pass.
What if my exam date changes?
Change the date in your account and your timetable is rebuilt from where you are, keeping everything you have done. If the new date falls under a different syllabus edition, we tell you.
Can I study chapters out of order?
Yes. The full course is always open. Your timetable shows what to study next, and anything you do early counts towards it.
How do I mark work as done?
Questions and Mock Tests are marked done when you answer or submit them. Concept Videos are marked done when you have watched at least 90% of the video, or when you tick "Done". Tick "Done" when you finish each part of a Chapter Summary. This keeps your progress and timetable up to date.
Do I have to follow a timetable?
No. We recommend using your personal timetable to help you stay on track for your exam date. If you prefer, you can study at your own pace. You then see the next topic to study, how much of the syllabus you have covered and your scores against the pass mark. If you give us your exam date, we tell you if your pace will not get you there in time. You can switch the timetable on or off at any time, and everything you have done counts.
Study options
What is included in every option?
The online course with your personal study timetable: Concept Videos, Chapter Summaries, Chapter Revision Questions and Mock Tests, plus a formula sheet where the exam has calculations.
How much do the courses cost?
The online course is £397 per exam at Level 3, £497 at Level 4 (Investment Advice Diploma) and £597 at Level 6 (PCIAM). Tutor support by WhatsApp adds £200. The weekend revision course is £750 per person. Private tutoring is planned and priced on a free, no-obligation call. Every option includes the online course.
How does WhatsApp tutor support work?
Send specific questions to our tutors on WhatsApp. Replies come within one working day, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm UK time. If you fall behind your timetable, a tutor helps you plan how to catch up. Fair use applies: lessons and calls are not included.
How does the weekend revision course work?
Two live days on Zoom, Saturday and Sunday, with 6 hours of teaching each day, around your working week. It runs for Level 3 and Level 4 exams; contact us for the next available weekend. Each weekend needs at least 3 participants, includes the online course, and is recorded so you can rewatch it for 30 days.
How does private tutoring work?
Start with a free, no-obligation call. We look at your exam and weak areas and advise how many hours you need, then you book one-to-one sessions on Zoom at times that suit you. Your tutor places the sessions in your timetable, on your weak areas. The pack includes the online course and WhatsApp support, and the hours are valid for 6 months.
What happens if a weekend course does not fill?
Each weekend is confirmed 10 days before it starts. If one cannot run, you choose a later weekend, four hours of private tutoring, or a full refund.
What if I do not pass after a weekend course?
If you attended both days, you can join a later weekend for the same exam free of charge within 6 months.
Access and payment
How long does access last?
Access lasts 12 months.
Is VAT added to your prices?
No. Whytebloom is not VAT registered, so the price shown is the price you pay.
Can my employer pay?
Yes. Firms can request a team quote from the For firms page. Your firm can pay by invoice. Our quote is valid for 30 days, and access starts once we receive payment or agree invoice payment terms with your firm.
What are the refund terms?
Online courses: you can cancel for a full refund within 14 days after the day you buy. If you ask for access to start within those 14 days, you agree that this right ends once you open the course. Weekend courses: a full refund if we cancel, or if you cancel at least 10 days before the weekend. These terms are in addition to your legal rights.
